I was also really surprised at how good it sounded for having bad strings on it & being left in a kids wardrobe. I think I've stumbled onto a gem hereAleutiaShannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14807986120768710104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686444423287553870.post-58706612916955697402014-02-14T10:02:18.712-08:002014-02-14T10:02:18.712-08:00I own a 9512, serial 11140 signed.

What strings are others using.... very nice build quality on these guitars I have owned mine for about 20 years after spotting it in a second hand store.<br />iceboundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13738942772602774358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686444423287553870.post-56008563337687544232013-07-05T08:41:02.776-07:002013-07-05T08:41:02.776-07:005-digit usually the first number is significant, s...5-digit usually the first number is significant, so these were probably 1979 or 1971 (models listed in above comments)tomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08573253914355034420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686444423287553870.post-22210655668276242202013-07-03T11:09:21.580-07:002013-07-03T11:09:21.580-07:00the first ones were hand built by suzuki and the l...the first ones were hand built by suzuki and the label signed to signify this I believe. It follows therefore that only a limited amount of hand built guitars were made.jimmusonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686444423287553870.post-92123086321465401452013-06-26T02:48:30.420-07:002013-06-26T02:48:30.420-07:00Hi Tomas. Not sure how the numbers work, but if Dave Key's Dad's guitar - ser: 11117 - is late 60s, might mine be much earlier?? Not desperate to know, but curious. Best acoustic I've ever had. Will never sell. This guitar was bought new by my dad and would have been sometime in the late 60's. I was just in the process of restringing it and thought I'd check the model out. It has a nice finish and decent tone.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06981725293153479183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686444423287553870.post-64849784569493021652012-07-06T05:29:26.003-07:002012-07-06T05:29:26.003-07:00this has the serial number 11110
